A talented up and coming film producer Florian Wittig recently did a documentary about the Creative Commons license. While I was over in Cologne playing at the CC festival, he managed to do an interview with me, and has used several excerpts from it. My music is also featured throughout the documentary (which is nice). It is good to see that Creative Commons is receiving more exposure from people like Florian, as it is allowing a lot of artists to get involved and express themselves without the need for exploitation and greedy cash-clenching music industry representatives reaping the rewards.

A very kind review of my latest album Pixel Mixel. Steve has really excelled himself here! Check out all of his other reviews on his very tidy blog.
New album. It is free. It is nice. Released at Rec72, the most creative, involved, and elite net label on the planet.
Alex Baker has written a fantastic review of the 'Farwah' EP, on the world-reknown 'Drowned in Sound' website. Thanks Alex!
Alex has a great blog with lots of gig and album reviews. If you want him to do a review of your album (or gig if in London) then give him a shout. Check out his insightful blog.
I have been asked to play at the Unique Beats Festival in Edinburgh on Saturday the 24th April. The festival will showcase a lot of new music-making tools during the day, and once the gear is packed away at around 1900, a bunch of artists will be playing until late.
Cologne Commons is a music festival in Germany set up to promote music released on the Creative Commons license. Marco Medkour (the owner of rec72, and a founding member of Cologne Commons) has enjoyed my release at rec72 so much, that he has invited me to play a headline set at the festival on Saturday 12th June. Great!
City Showcase is a company running the four day music festival "Spotlight London" starting on the 5th of May. The festival will focus on promoting unsigned talent by putting on several performances in the shops, cafes, and venues in and around central London.
I have been chosen to play in two shops on Saturday 8th May. First is LK Bennett at 1500, and second is 55DSL at 1630. You will probably see me running down Regent Street clutching my monome with a massive grin on my face! Visuals may also be supplied by Chalkline, but this is to be confirmed.
My new ep 'Farwah' has been release on the brand new label 'Love and Cake Digital' (run by Test Pilot Music). It is a four-track breaks ep containing a healthy portion of glitchy playful beat-driven madness (like most previous Bitbasic releases!). It has been released on many digital download sites, like Juno, Boomkat, and Amazon, and it was soon make its way to Bleep, Beatport, and even Spotify!
The ep has had a very kind review in Mixmag, which is absolutely awesome! You can see a scan of the review HERE.
Preview the EP using the Soundcloud widget below. Hope you like it!
Farwah preview by Bitbasic
I have been doing a lot of stuff for Test Pilot Music recently (remixes and the like, details to be blogged soon...). The most exciting project is my recently completed 'Farwah EP', which will be the debut release on the new label 'Love and Cake Digital'. It will be available on iTunes, Napter, Amazon, Myspace Music, and most other digital music vendors (you will also be able to stream it off Spotify). The release date is January 18th 2010. More news to come!
'Sprinkling Rainbows', my new album, has just been released at Monotonik, the best netlabel in all of the land. As usual, it is released under the Creative Commons License, so is available to download for free.

A very nice bloke called Steve writes reviews for netlabel releases at his blog Catching the Waves. The reviews are well written, there is good preview-ability of tracks under review, and best of all, the music is released under the Creative Commons License, so if you like it you can download it and own it straight away, for free!

Looks like I have a monthly slot for Colony at the Russian Bar in Shoreditch. Ba baaaa.
